Coordinator & Expert on Freshwater Biodiversity
Prof. Dr. Sasho Trajanovski
Head of the Department of Benthic Fauna at the Hydrobiological Institute in Ohrid, Dr. Trajanovski brings over 25 years of experience in freshwater ecology, invasive species, and biodiversity monitoring. With a PhD in Freshwater Ecology, he has led regional and international projects on the ecological status of lakes Ohrid and Prespa and is a leading voice in aquatic biodiversity research and policy integration in the Balkans.

Research & Education Lead – Biodiversity and Aquatic Ecosystems
Prof. Dr. Sonja Trajanovska
A full professor and senior researcher at the Hydrobiological Institute Ohrid, Dr. Trajanovska specializes in macrophyte ecology, biodiversity conservation, and lake ecosystem assessment. Her expertise in Charophyta and long-standing commitment to science-based education ensure the platform’s content is rooted in ecological accuracy and relevance.

Lead Specialist – Climate Impacts & Invasive Species
Prof. Dr. Biljana Budzakoska Gjoreska
As a scientific adviser at the Hydrobiological Institute’s Department of Benthic Fauna, Dr. Budzakoska has been at the forefront of research on macrozoobenthos, gastropods, and climate-induced ecosystem shifts in Lake Ohrid and beyond. Her deep knowledge in ecological monitoring and data interpretation supports the platform’s scientific foundations.

Platform Manager & Climate Education Specialist
MSc. Konstantin Zdraveski
Konstantin is an experienced project coordinator, educator, and environmental advocate with over 19 years of work in the Ohrid-Prespa region and beyond. With a strong academic foundation in finance and a PhD in progress focused on ecosystem services, his expertise bridges environmental science, digital innovation, and sustainable development. As President of the Association for Ecology EKOMENLOG, he has led numerous regional and international projects on biodiversity, climate resilience, and cultural heritage. On this platform, Konstantin oversees content curation, strategic development, multilingual outreach, and educational alignment—ensuring the resources are locally grounded and globally informed.
