On April 8, 2025, a dynamic online meeting brought together educators, environmental professionals, and youth leaders from the Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve (MDD BR) to explore regional collaboration on climate change education. The session marked the official introduction of the Climate-IQ Knowledge Exchange Platform, a new digital hub designed to support climate literacy across UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in Southeast Europe.
Participants were introduced to the platform’s structure, open-access resources, and opportunities for engagement, with an emphasis on cross-sectoral cooperation and youth participation. The platform (www.climate-iq.org) provides a growing library of toolkits, case studies, educational modules, and training materials available in multiple languages.
A key outcome of the event was the discussion around organizing upcoming exchange events in North Macedonia, Croatia, and Serbia, aimed at deepening regional partnerships, sharing teaching practices, and co-developing localized content for climate education.
This meeting set the tone for a series of follow-up activities planned under the Climate-IQ initiative and reaffirmed the shared commitment to equipping communities and future generations with the knowledge and skills needed to build climate resilience in the region.
Stay tuned for updates on the next exchange events and new features on the platform!
